Day 7

What a wonderful day!  I felt so mush more relieved.  I even stayed in bed until 7ish this morning.  We went to hospital and as we walked across the parking lot we we talking about how today may not be very fun.  We expected Holden to be sedated today and to just be monitoring the computers and numbers.  I was  so surprised to find that Holden had been reduced on his sedation and was able to move spontaneously.  His poor little face is really swollen- which is typical after a surgery.  And all the lines are upsetting, but so needed.  The night nurse told us that he would be able to open his eyes in his current sedative state, but that the swelling was preventing him from doing so.  I was thrilled to hear that.  We spent time talking to him and telling him over and over again that we loved him.
We had lunch with mom before she left today- yummy pancakes for me!  We even snuck in a  nap today.  I look forward to the next couple of days as we may see the chest tubes and breathing tube be removed!  Go Holden Go!
I'm still praying for perfection!
