I've been planning to fill a wall in Holden's room with pictures for over a year now. While I was pregnant with Juliet I thought it would be a great time before she got here. I went to Goodwill and bought any frame with good 'bones" that was under two dollars. I ended up with seven of them on that trip. They really varied so much: wood, metal, glass front, and shadow box frame. Hobby Lobby provided scrap book paper, a cute bicycle sticker, and some wooden vehicles. And then they sat there for months in their original shopping bags.
As my countdown toward returning to work loomed, I knew if I didn't do it now, it wouldn't happen.
My goal was to produce something presentable but not perfect.
I laid the frames out on our kitchen island to wash the glass and disassemble in prep for painting. I had some extra paint from Juliet's room in a neutral color that I used to color the frames. I painted the frames without too much attention. I intentionally left paint strokes showing to cover all the other likely unintentional strokes.
Not a ton of thought was put into the photos. They were just what I had around already printed. I did include one of only three photos of my grandpa holding Holden. That one will probably be a permanent one.
In the future, I'd like to pick up a few more frames and add more to the collage! All in good timing. I'm not stressing about it.
