Da Da

Holden started school two weeks ago.  He's going two days a week to Cedar Crest Academy in Fayetteville.  I'm not very happy about him going to school.  But Bryan said it right that I won't be happy with him going anywhere.  Anyways- for the great news!  Holden came home the first day saying Da Da!  Da for everything and Da for Daddy.  It was wonderful.  I'm sure Bryan is so happy that after two years, Holden is finally saying da da.
He's also consistently saying "vroom" for cars and trucks.  He replies to our questions, What does a car say? with vroom.  He also makes a "ooooohh" for a firetruck.  "Oh o" is said every time he notices a light out, something broken, or he drops something.
For those that are keeping count, we now have...
- Ma Ma
- Da Da
- Oh O
- Ba Ba
- Doooo (no)
- Moo, sometimes

I need to blog about Holden's birthday party.  But I haven't even seen the pictures from it yet.  Someday...

How's School?  "He did great,"  that's all I know.  Bryan has taken over as primary caregiver for the summer.  So he is taking Holden to and from school and speech.  As a guy, Bryan doesn't ask all those prying questions that I will be asking come August.  How does he sleep on a cot?  Does he fall off?  Does he use his blanket?  Does he play with any of the other kids?  Does he talk?  I guess I'll have to wait until August until I get my fill on these burning questions.
The one thing I'm struggling with tremendously is the awful food they give these kids.  Seriously!  This week's menu for lunch was pizza, nachos, hot dog, chicken nuggets, and a chicken sandwich.  Today didn't even offer a single veggie the entire day.  I'm amazed at the type of food we think is appropriate to give our kiddos.  And I just have to laugh because some of my patient's moms say to me "She will only eat hot dogs and jello.  How do I increase her fiber?"  Are you kidding me?  You give your kid these things and then expect them to want to eat things other than the fake food?  PUKE!  As you can probably expect, I send lunch and snacks for Holden each day.  Oh, this poor child.  Holden, please don't hate me forever.  Does anybody else think this is crazy?

Enjoy his awesome dance moves!

  1. I agree!! Yucky food choices! Glad Mason is still young enough that all he eats at school is milk! Could you send a brown bag lunch for him?
