Holden's trip to the zoo!

We had our first trip to the zoo.  I think I may have been more excited about it than Holden could have been.  I love the Tulsa Zoo and spent many field trips there as a kid.  We got there right when they opened so we could maximize Holden happy time before nap fussiness kicked in.

Our first stop was the monkeys!  Holden was very interested in them.  They first were outside as the zoo keepers were getting their breakfast ready inside.  Holden watched them from across the water.  As the monkeys were waiting, one attacked a window near by.  They are bigger and stronger than you think.  Thankfully, Holden wasn't near that window and only was interested in why everyone was startled.

Holden and Grandpa Tony.  Holden enjoyed his independence in climbing up on benches and sitting like a big boy.

Fish!

Running away and Daddy had to retrieve

He may have enjoyed the playground more than anything else

I take that back.  He loved watching the train rumble around the zoo.  Lots of happy noises from this little guy's mouth when he spotted it.

He's getting super tired here, but he perked up for the turtles.

couldn't resist.

Finally, the train ride!  He loved it.

This is how he looked riding the train!

Despite the look of uncertainty in this photo, he liked the carousel.  I ended up riding twice with him because he liked it so much.

I can't wait to go back again.  We had so much fun and the weather was perfect.  I loved spending that time with my Dad and also my sisters and Mom.

  1. Holden needs to tell Jade to lighten up on the carousel! I kind of wish we had ridden the train while we were there. Maybe we should plan a trip for all six of us sometime!
