14 months

Can I be any more in love with this little man?  We are blessed to have such a happy child.  Always smiling, always content.  At 14 months he has quickened his step.  He also has begun running away from us when he knows we are after him.  For example, Holden loves climbing out of the doggie door when he wants to play outside.  We are usually after him within a minute or so.  Today he watched Bryan come out the door, then he turned and ran across the yard giggling.  Such a beautiful noise to my ears.
Activities lately:
Books!  He loves reading books.  Well, for all of 30 seconds.  He pulls books out of his basket then sits down and flips through the pages.  But he will only spend approximately 30 seconds before getting the next book out.  I'm aching to learn the end of some of his stories.
Climbing.  He climbs into the rocking chair and attempts to climb in and out of the tub.  He loves climbing over and under the kitchen table chairs.  He falls a few times, but doesn't cry or slow down much.  I will usually ignore him if he has fallen.  But if he starts to get upset I will say, "Whoops, you fell down!"  He usually doesn't care after that and goes back to shoving his head under the next chairs' rung.
Skinned knee!  He got his first skinned knee today.  Nanny said she doesn't even know when it happened.  It looks like it bled a bit since there is a scab on it.
Teeth keep coming.  I will stick my finger in his mouth every now and then and find another one.  This kiddo is so chill, I never know when he is teething.  We are currently working on number 11 and 12.  He still doesn't enjoy brushing his teeth.  He much prefers brushing my teeth with his toothbrush. Whatever it takes!
Sippy Cups- finally he took one!  I can't believe it and I'm so thankful.  Holden is notorious for holding his bottles upside down while squealing as the milk pours onto the carpet.  Then when I see what he's doing, I call out his name and start running toward him.  He would, of course, turn and giggle while running away.  A sippy cup keeps our carpets much dryer.
Baby Dedication at church.  Last weekend at church we had a special little service for the babies of the church.  I loved how it was done, except it was late sunday night so that out of town guests really were not able to attend.  I was so touched that several families from our small group wanted to attend.  Each little one was brought on stage and their parents and everyone that was there supporting them came up behind them to pray for them.  We prayed for health, happiness, their careers, and their future spouses.  I get teary-eyed thinking of Holden's wife.  Anyways, of course I was balling as they mentioned Holden's surgeries.  I'm so thankful for everyone that prayed for Holden during this incredibly trying time.  Just today, some co-workers mentioned how calm I was during Holden's birth and surgeries.  I can assure you I was the opposite of calm with multiple meltdowns each day.  The Lord carried me (dragged me) through it all.  My husband was the calm rock.
